Droplists are the mechanic by which rewards are given in-game, mostly through searching ruins and completing quests. While there are a few quests that give the same specific reward every time, most of the quests have rewards that are semi-randomized, picked from one of the following droplists. Each droplist provides a variety of potential rewards which vary depending on the technological era the empire receiving the reward is in.
Many of the droplist tables will include weights, which affect the chances of getting a given reward from a given droplist; the higher a reward's weight, the more likely you are to receive it.

The Mad Fairies Droplist is one of the main droplists used in the game, especially for the major faction quests. The droplist is named after the Wild Walker's name in the game files, and was likely initially designed as a droplist specifically for their main quest, but was eventually used as a general-purpose droplist for the other factions as well.

This droplist determines a technology reward given for some quests. All rewards have equal weighting. In the event that all the technologies that can be received already have been, the reward will instead be an amount of Dust as determined by the Dust droplist.
As with the Technology droplist, if there are no technologies from that era left to give, it will instead grant an amount of Dust from the Dust droplist.
